Rohit Sharma’s Epic Reaction To An Englishman’s Remark About Yashasvi Jaiswal: “Ben Duckett Hasn’t Seen Rishabh Pant”

New Delhi: Ben Duckett’s remarks on Yashasvi Jaiswal’s style of play drew criticism from Indian captain Rohit Sharma. Jaiswal struck for eighty runs in the first innings of the Hyderabad Test and continued to hit for seventy-plus during the Visakhapatnam double-century. The Test series is now being played against England. Jaiswal scored 37 and 73 runs in the Ranchi Test, respectively.

The young Indian batsman is about to surpass the record held by the great Sunil Gavaskar for the most runs scored by an Indian batsman in a Test series.

Following Jaiswal’s valiant actions, Ben Duckett said that players elsewhere would not have felt as comfortable embracing an aggressive playing style if Test coach McCullum hadn’t taught England how to play “Baseball.”

Duckett said, “It almost feels like we should take some credit that they’re playing differently than how other people play Test cricket when you see players from the opposition playing like that.”

The Englishman, who also registered a century in the first innings of the Rajkot Test, added, “We saw it a bit in the summer,, and it’s quite exciting to see other players and other teams are also playing that aggressive style of cricket.”

In response to Dukett’s remarks, India captain Rohit Sharma used Rishabh Pant as an example. Pant, who hasn’t played cricket since 2022, is renowned for his aggressive batting style while playing Test matches.

“Rishabh Pant was a member of our team; I doubt Ben Duckett has seen him in action,” Rohit said.
