“If You’re Him and Not Chosen…”: Irfan Pathan’s cryptic post after Sarfaraz Khan’s rejection goes viral

As the five-match Test series between England and India has began, talk over a specific first-class performer’s persistent exclusion has heated up once again.

<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-373353″ src=”” alt=” if youre him and not chosen irfan pathans cryptic post after sarfaraz khans reject” width=”1004″ height=”669″ title=”"If You're Him and Not Chosen…”: Irfan Pathan's cryptic post after Sarfaraz Khan's rejection goes viral 3″ srcset=” 510w,×100.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1004px) 100vw, 1004px” />

One of the best players in the Indian domestic red-ball cricket circuit is Sarfaraz Khan, and his impressive record speaks for itself. But he’s still kind of in the background.

The most recent rejection occurred when Virat Kohli withdrew from the first two games of the present series between India and England, creating a vacancy in the Test team. There were rumors that a younger player like Sarfaraz may get his first call-up, or that either Ajinkya Rahane or Cheteshwar Pujara might be called up.

Instead, the Indian team management decided to replace Kohli for the first two Tests with Rajat Patidar, a batter from Madhya Pradesh.

After scoring hundreds for India A against the England Lions in back-to-back practice matches and the first Unofficial Test in Ahmedabad, Patidar was rewarded.

Irfan Pathan, a former all-rounder for India, has questioned Sarfaraz’s non-selection despite the fact that he has 3751 runs at an average of 68.20 from 44 first-class matches.

“What are you thinking, if you are him and you are not picked for a test match in cricket?!” Sharing the 26-year-old’s FC cricket stats, Pathan wrote.

Sarfaraz is presently playing against the England Lions as a member of the India A team.

On the second day of the current unofficial Test in Ahmedabad, he reached a century, and the hosts responded strongly by bowling out the England Lions for 152. The series’ first game finished in a tie.

In an ODI against South Africa in Paarl, Patidar recently made his debut for his country by scoring 22 in the first innings.

Meanwhile, the BCCI has declared that Avesh Khan, a fast bowler, has been freed from the India test team to play for Madhya Pradesh in their next Ranji Trophy match.
